On "Seinfeld", what did two street toughs steal from Kramer?

The story behind the answer

On Seinfeld, two street toughs stole Elaine's armoire from Kramer.

The incident occurs in “The Soup Nazi,” the sixth episode of Seinfeld's seventh season. Elaine has acquired an armoire, and Kramer agrees to watch it. Two intimidating street toughs confront him and take the piece of furniture, leaving Kramer embarrassed and frustrated that he failed to protect it.

The armoire theft becomes part of the episode's chain of absurd storylines. Kramer later tries to replace it for Elaine and obtains another armoire from the Soup Nazi, the stern soup vendor whose refusal to serve customers drives the episode's better-known plot. The unrelated-looking stories eventually intersect through the replacement furniture.

The answer is sometimes shortened to “an armoire,” but Elaine's armoire is the most complete canonical response. It is also easy to confuse the stolen furniture with Kramer's own possessions, even though the episode makes clear that he was guarding the piece for Elaine. The street toughs are intentionally treated as unnamed comic antagonists.
