Nadia Comaneci took three Olympic gold medals at what tender age?

The story behind the answer

Nadia Comaneci won three Olympic gold medals at the age of 14. At the 1976 Montreal Olympics, the Romanian gymnast won gold in the individual all-around, balance beam, and uneven bars competitions.

Comaneci also won a silver medal with Romania's team and a bronze on floor exercise, giving her five medals at those Games. Her performance became legendary because she was the first gymnast to receive a perfect 10.0 in Olympic competition. The scoreboard could not display a two-digit number, so it showed 1.00 instead.

The three gold medals were won during the 1976 Games, before Comaneci turned 15. She later added four more Olympic medals at the 1980 Moscow Games, including two golds, bringing her career total to nine Olympic medals. A common mix-up is to associate all of her Olympic success with Montreal; she competed at two Olympics and won medals at both.
