Karyn Parsons appeared as Hilary Banks on which Patti LaBelle sitcom? Out All Night.

Parsons played Hilary Banks in an episode of Out All Night, the NBC sitcom led by singer Patti LaBelle. The episode, “The Great Pretender,” extended Hilary’s presence beyond The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and into another series from the same network era.

Out All Night premiered in 1992 and lasted one season. LaBelle played Chelsea Paige, a successful former singer whose life and business connected her with the younger characters played by Morris Chestnut, Vivica A. Fox, Duane Martin, and Simon O’Brien.

This appearance is easy to confuse with Parsons’s crossover on Blossom, where she also played Hilary Banks in “Wake Up Little Suzy.” Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, Sister, Sister, and Living Single were separate sitcoms, despite their overlapping 1990s audience and Black television casts. Out All Night is the Patti LaBelle vehicle specifically associated with Parsons’s Hilary cameo.
