The Life of a Showgirl was the global best-selling album of 2025.
The album was released on October 3, 2025, yet its enormous first-week performance and sustained consumption made it the year’s leading album worldwide. Its success was measured across sales, streaming, and other industry consumption metrics rather than by one national chart alone.
In the United States, the album became the fastest-selling album in history at the time described by its Wikipedia article, moving more than four million album-equivalent units in its first week. It also topped the 2025 Billboard 200 year-end chart.
The global distinction is separate from individual country records. The album also led year-end charts in places including the United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, and Germany, while receiving multi-platinum certifications across several regions.
