Dior launched the Baby Dior children’s line in 1967.
The line was introduced during Marc Bohan’s long tenure as the house’s artistic director. Baby Dior extended the brand’s fashion identity to children’s clothing and accessories, bringing Dior’s emphasis on refined styling and luxury materials to a younger market.
The launch belongs to the period after Christian Dior’s death, when the company was being developed by successive creative directors rather than by Dior himself. This is an important distinction: Christian Dior founded the house, but many later product categories and brand divisions were created under other leaders.
The year 1967 is also easy to confuse with major fragrance and couture dates from Dior’s history. Miss Dior debuted in 1947, while Eau Sauvage arrived in 1966. Baby Dior therefore belongs to the next stage of the house’s expansion.
