In which series did Deborah Meaden join the investor panel on Britain's Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Deborah Meaden joined the investor panel in series 3 of Britain's Dragon's Den.

Meaden became one of the programme's most recognisable investors after arriving following the first two series. She is a British businesswoman whose career has included leisure, retail and tourism businesses, and she became known on the show for direct questioning and attention to commercial details.

Her arrival is sometimes confused with the original panel because she has been a prominent Dragon for much of the programme's history. She was not one of the five investors who formed the first series panel, however; she joined during the programme's early run.

Meaden's career outside television also shaped her on-screen approach. She often examines pricing, margins, ownership and the practical route to scaling a company, which are recurring issues in the negotiations shown on Dragon's Den.
