The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The museum opened in Santa Fe in 1997, eleven years after O'Keeffe's death. It is devoted to O'Keeffe's life, art, and influence, and its collection includes paintings, drawings, sculpture, photographs, and archival material.
Santa Fe is distinct from Abiquiú, where O'Keeffe maintained her principal New Mexico home, and Ghost Ranch, the landscape retreat associated with many of her paintings. The museum's location in Santa Fe reflects the city's importance as a center for the arts and as a gateway to the northern New Mexico landscapes that shaped O'Keeffe's later work.
