In which New Jersey town is the 2026 FIFA World Cup final venue located?
Answer
East Rutherford
Answer
East Rutherford
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final venue is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
MetLife Stadium stands inside the Meadowlands Sports Complex, roughly 10 miles west of Midtown Manhattan. FIFA selected it to host the final, along with seven other tournament matches. During the competition, the stadium is branded New York/New Jersey Stadium rather than using its commercial name.
The venue opened in 2010 and is home to the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets. It replaced Giants Stadium, which occupied the neighboring site and hosted matches during the 1994 World Cup. The 2026 final therefore brings the world's biggest football match back to the same New Jersey sports area, although not to the same building.
A frequent geographical confusion comes from the tournament branding. FIFA markets the host area as New York/New Jersey because of the region's global city, but the stadium itself is in East Rutherford—not New York City, Hoboken, Jersey City or Newark.
