In which month of 1692 were the last executions held?

The story behind the answer

The last executions of the Salem witch trials were held in September 1692.

The final executions took place on September 22, when Martha Corey, Mary Eastey, Alice Parker, Ann Pudeator, Margaret Scott, Wilmot Redd, Samuel Wardwell, and Mary Parker were hanged at Gallows Hill in Salem. This was the fifth execution date of the trials and brought the number of people hanged to nineteen.

Giles Corey had died three days earlier, on September 19, after being pressed for refusing to enter a plea. His death is sometimes included in summaries of the executions, but it was not a hanging. The September 22 hangings were the last formal executions carried out during the crisis.

Governor William Phips later halted the proceedings and dissolved the Court of Oyer and Terminer on October 29, 1692. Trials continued under a new court in 1693, but no further executions occurred. The broader Salem witch-trial episode is usually dated from 1692 into 1693 because those later cases and imprisonments continued after the last hangings.
