In which hemisphere are the 2026 Perseids primarily visible?

The story behind the answer

The 2026 Perseids are primarily visible in the Northern Hemisphere.

Their radiant lies in the northern part of the sky, and the shower is therefore best placed for observers at mid-northern latitudes. From those locations, Perseus rises high enough for many meteors to be seen, especially during the hours before dawn.

The shower is not completely invisible from the Southern Hemisphere. Observers there may see some Perseids when the radiant is near or above the horizon, but the radiant remains low and the viewing geometry is less favorable. This is why the annual display is traditionally associated with northern summer skywatching.

The hemisphere description does not mean that every meteor appears in the north. Perseids may streak across many parts of the sky. It describes where the radiant is favorably placed and where the overall observing conditions are generally best.
