Zuffenhausen has been central to Porsche’s production history since the company built its first Porsche 356 there in 1950. The site remains Porsche AG’s headquarters and produces the 911 and Taycan, among other components and specialist vehicles.

A common mix-up is Weissach, another important Porsche location near Stuttgart. Weissach is best known as Porsche’s development and testing centre, not the company’s main factory. Leipzig is also a major Porsche production site, building models such as the Macan and Panamera.

Stuttgart is therefore the canonical city-level answer, while Zuffenhausen is the more precise district-level location.
