PUBG Lite first launched its beta in Thailand. The lower-spec version began its initial regional test there on January 24, 2019.

PUBG Mobile Lite was designed for Android devices with less powerful hardware than the standard mobile release. It used a smaller 60-player battlefield and reduced technical demands, helping more players run the game on budget phones and weaker connections.

Thailand served as the first test market before the game expanded to other parts of Asia, Latin America, and Africa. This is distinct from PUBG Mobile’s original rollout, which began with a test in Canada in March 2018. Japan, India, and South Korea were not the first beta market for PUBG Mobile Lite.
