In which city will you find the CN Tower?

The story behind the answer

You will find the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The CN Tower is a communications and observation tower in downtown Toronto, built on the former Railway Lands near the city’s waterfront. Its name comes from Canadian National, the railway company that developed the project. The tower was designed to improve television and radio transmission as Toronto’s growing skyline began interfering with line-of-sight signals.

Construction began in 1973, and the tower opened to the public on June 26, 1976. At 553.3 metres, it quickly became Toronto’s defining landmark. Its major attractions include elevated observation levels, the Glass Floor, and 360 The Restaurant, which rotates above the city.

The CN Tower was the world’s tallest free-standing structure for 32 years, from 1975 until the Burj Khalifa surpassed it in 2007. It is sometimes mistakenly associated with Vancouver because both cities are major Canadian tourist destinations, but Toronto is the city directly identified with the tower. Toronto is also the capital of the province of Ontario.
