In which city was the 1955 conference held that helped launch the Non-Aligned Movement?

The story behind the answer

The 1955 Asian–African Conference was held in Bandung, Indonesia, helping lay the groundwork for the Non-Aligned Movement.

Representatives from 29 Asian and African countries met in Bandung from 18 to 24 April 1955. The participating states included recently independent countries and nations still confronting colonial rule. Their discussions focused on sovereignty, economic cooperation, opposition to colonialism, and peaceful coexistence during the Cold War.

The conference produced the Ten Principles of Bandung, which emphasized respect for territorial integrity, non-interference, self-determination, and the peaceful settlement of disputes. The meeting did not itself create the Non-Aligned Movement. That organization was formally established at a 1961 summit in Belgrade, where leaders including Josip Broz Tito, Jawaharlal Nehru, Gamal Abdel Nasser, and Sukarno promoted an independent path outside the main Cold War blocs.
