In which city is the ride-hailing company Grab headquartered?

The story behind the answer

Grab is headquartered in Singapore. Its global headquarters are at one-north, a major research and technology district in Singapore, even though the company began elsewhere in Southeast Asia.

Grab was founded in 2012 as MyTeksi by Malaysian entrepreneurs Anthony Tan and Tan Hooi Ling. The original service focused on making taxi rides safer and more convenient in Malaysia. The company later expanded across Southeast Asia and changed its name to Grab in 2016.

A common mix-up is Kuala Lumpur, where Grab was founded, rather than Singapore, where its corporate headquarters are located. Grab is now more than a ride-hailing company: its app also supports food delivery, parcel delivery, digital payments and other financial services. Its regional footprint includes Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia and Myanmar.
