The Peace Tower is part of Canada’s Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, Ontario. It stands on Parliament Hill at the centre of Ottawa’s parliamentary precinct and forms the most recognizable feature of the Centre Block’s south facade.

The present tower replaced the Victoria Tower after a devastating fire destroyed most of the original Centre Block in 1916. Designed by John A. Pearson and Jean Omer Marchand, the new tower was conceived as a memorial to Canadians who died in the First World War. Its cornerstone was laid in 1919, and the tower was completed in the early 1920s.

The Peace Tower contains a Memorial Chamber and a large clock, and its carillon has 53 bells. The tower is sometimes confused with the entire Parliament Buildings, but it is specifically the clock-and-bell tower attached to the Centre Block.
