In which California city is Levi's Stadium located?

Levi's Stadium is located in Santa Clara, California.

The stadium stands at 4900 Marie P. DeBartolo Way, beside California's Great America amusement park and near the San Jose–Santa Clara border. It is the home field of the San Francisco 49ers, whose name still honors the team's San Francisco roots even though the venue is outside San Francisco.

The location followed years of unsuccessful plans for a new 49ers stadium at Candlestick Point in San Francisco. The team shifted its focus to Santa Clara, where its offices and training facility had been based since 1987. Santa Clara voters approved the stadium project in 2010, construction began in 2012, and the stadium opened in 2014.

A common mix-up is calling it a San Francisco stadium because of the team's name or a San Jose stadium because it is close to that larger city. The correct municipality is Santa Clara, in the broader San Francisco Bay Area.
