In what year was George Harrison born?
Answer
1943
Answer
1943
George Harrison was born in 1943. He was born on 25 February 1943 at 12 Arnold Grove in Wavertree, Liverpool, England, the youngest of four children.
Harrison grew up in a working-class Liverpool family and developed an early fascination with guitars. His mother, Louise, encouraged music in the household, and Harrison began learning guitar as a teenager. While attending the Liverpool Institute, he became friends with Paul McCartney, who later helped bring him into John Lennon's developing group, the Quarrymen.
Harrison joined the Beatles before the band achieved international fame and remained its youngest member. His birthplace and birth year are sometimes confused with those of other Beatles: John Lennon was born in 1940, Paul McCartney in 1942, and Ringo Starr in 1940.
Harrison's life spanned major changes in popular music. After the Beatles broke up, he became a successful solo artist, organized the Concert for Bangladesh in 1971, and helped form the Traveling Wilburys. He died in Los Angeles in 2001 at age 58.
