In what year was Bill Gates born?

Bill Gates was born in 1955.

William Henry Gates III was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington, United States. His parents were William H. Gates Sr., a prominent attorney, and Mary Maxwell Gates, a civic leader and business executive. Gates grew up with two sisters, Kristi and Libby.

His birthplace and upbringing are often mentioned alongside his early interest in computers. While attending the private Lakeside School in Seattle, Gates gained access to a computer terminal and began programming with fellow student Paul Allen. That experience helped lead to their later partnership.

The year 1955 places Gates in the same birth year as several other major technology figures, including Steve Jobs, although the two later led competing companies. Gates eventually co-founded Microsoft and became one of the most influential figures in personal-computer history.
