Vogue Taiwan launched in 1996 as the first Vogue edition published in a Chinese-speaking market.
The edition was created for Taiwan’s fashion audience and became part of Vogue’s international network during the magazine’s broader expansion across Asia. It publishes in Chinese while presenting international fashion, beauty, culture, and luxury coverage.
Vogue Taiwan is distinct from Vogue China, which launched later in 2005. The two editions serve different markets and publishing environments, so their launch dates are an important way to distinguish them.
The edition’s history is also separate from Vogue Hong Kong, which launched in 2019, and Vogue Singapore, which returned as a print edition in 2020. These later launches are sometimes incorrectly treated as the first Vogue presence in a Chinese-speaking or Asian market. Taiwan’s 1996 launch came earlier.
