In what year did the TV series House M.D. end?

The story behind the answer

The TV series House M.D. ended in 2012.

Fox broadcast the series finale, “Everybody Dies,” on May 21, 2012. The conclusion arrived after eight seasons and 177 episodes, completing the story of Gregory House and the doctors who worked with him at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

The series began in 2004, so its broadcast life lasted nearly eight years. That span included major changes in House’s diagnostic teams, hospital leadership, and personal relationships. The final season focused heavily on the consequences of House’s actions and the importance of his friendship with James Wilson.

The ending year can be confused with 2011 because season eight began in that year, or with 2013 because the program continued in reruns and international scheduling after the finale. The original U.S. broadcast concluded in 2012.
