House M.D. premiered in 2004, beginning its television run on November 16 of that year.
The series was created by David Shore and developed for Fox as a medical drama centered on Dr. Gregory House, a brilliant but difficult diagnostician. Hugh Laurie played House throughout the show’s run.
The premiere episode, “Everybody Lies,” introduced House and his diagnostic team at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. The series combined hospital cases with ongoing character stories and House’s unusual investigative methods.
House M.D. ran for eight seasons, ending in 2012. Its premiere year is sometimes confused with the year of the pilot’s development, but the broadcast debut itself was in 2004.
