The House M.D. television series ended in 2012. Its final episode, “Everybody Dies,” aired on May 21, 2012, concluding the eight-season run.
The ending followed Dr. Gregory House and his relationships with colleagues at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. The series had begun in 2004 and had become one of Fox’s signature dramas, but the network and producers decided that the eighth season would be its last.
The final season included major changes to House’s professional circumstances and supporting cast. The concluding episode revisited the show’s themes of friendship, sacrifice, identity, and the consequences of House’s decisions.
The year 2012 refers to the end of the original television broadcast, not the end of every later rerun, streaming release, or international airing. It is also distinct from the year the series premiered, 2004. The complete broadcast span was therefore 2004–2012.
