House M.D. premiered in the United States in 2004.
The medical drama debuted on Fox on November 16, 2004, with the episode “Pilot.” The series introduced Gregory House, an unconventional diagnostician at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey.
The show was created by David Shore and developed with executive producer Katie Jacobs and director Bryan Singer. Its central format combined difficult medical mysteries with character drama, usually ending with House and his team identifying a rare or overlooked diagnosis.
Some viewers confuse the U.S. premiere with the start of a later international broadcast or with the year the series was first announced. The first American episode, however, aired in 2004. House M.D. continued for eight seasons before its series finale aired in 2012.
