In what year did The Big Bang Theory premiere?
Answer
2007
Answer
2007
The Big Bang Theory premiered in 2007, with its first episode airing in the United States on September 24 of that year. The sitcom was broadcast by CBS and began with Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper sharing an apartment in Pasadena, California.
The series was created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. Its original central group included physicists Leonard and Sheldon, waitress and aspiring actress Penny, aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz, and astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali. Amy Farrah Fowler and Bernadette Rostenkowski later became major members of the ensemble.
A common mix-up comes from the show’s production history. An earlier pilot was made for the 2006–07 television season but never aired. The version audiences know was a reworked pilot that premiered in 2007. The series ultimately ran for 12 seasons and 279 episodes, ending in 2019.
