In Twin Peaks: The Return, which band performed “She’s Gone Away” at the Roadhouse?

In Twin Peaks: The Return, Nine Inch Nails performed “She’s Gone Away” at the Roadhouse.

The performance appears in Part 8 of the 2017 revival. Nine Inch Nails founder Trent Reznor wrote and performed the song with the band, and the sequence follows the episode’s stark, experimental treatment of supernatural events. The Roadhouse performances function as recurring musical punctuation throughout The Return, with each episode often ending or nearing its conclusion with a different artist.

This performance is separate from the band’s appearance in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, where Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails also have a connection to the film’s musical world. It should not be confused with the group’s performance of another song in the revival. The Roadhouse set list includes artists from rock, electronic, indie, and dream-pop traditions, making the venue one of the revival’s most recognizable structural devices.
