David Lynch plays FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole in Twin Peaks: The Return. Lynch also co-created Twin Peaks with Mark Frost and directed the continuation, making Gordon Cole one of his most visible on-screen roles in the series.
Gordon Cole originally appeared in the 1990 television series as a senior FBI official and as a colleague of Dale Cooper. The character is famous for speaking extremely loudly because of a fictional hearing impairment, a running joke that affects his conversations with other characters.
