Sherilyn Fenn plays Audrey Horne in the TV series Twin Peaks. Audrey is the daughter of wealthy businessman Benjamin Horne and becomes one of the show’s most distinctive young characters.
Audrey begins as a privileged student at Twin Peaks High School, but Laura Palmer’s murder draws her into an investigation of the town’s secrets. Her curiosity takes her into places and situations far beyond ordinary teenage life, including an undercover attempt to investigate a local brothel.
Fenn’s performance made Audrey a breakout character. Her dramatic scenes were often balanced with comic timing, unusual mannerisms, and a deliberately stylized 1950s-inspired look. Fenn returned as Audrey in Twin Peaks: The Return in 2017, although the character’s storyline there is presented in a more enigmatic way.
Audrey is sometimes confused with Donna Hayward, Laura’s best friend, who was played by Lara Flynn Boyle in the original series. They are separate characters with very different relationships to Laura’s story.
