In “Marvel’s Daredevil,” Matt Murdock is a lawyer. By day, he practices law in Hell’s Kitchen; by night, he uses his heightened senses and combat skills to fight criminals as Daredevil.
Murdock studied at Columbia Law School and later founded the law firm Nelson and Murdock with his friend Foggy Nelson. Their work often brings them into contact with corruption, organized crime, and clients who cannot afford powerful legal representation.
A common mix-up is to describe Murdock only as a vigilante or superhero. “Daredevil” is his masked identity, while lawyer is his civilian profession. His two roles are deliberately connected: his legal career lets him pursue justice through the courts, while his vigilante work addresses threats the legal system cannot easily stop.
