In the novel 'Carrie', what is the name of the high school Carrie White attends?

In Stephen King's novel Carrie, Carrie White attends Ewen High School. The school is located in the fictional Maine town of Chamberlain, where Carrie is bullied by her classmates and isolated by her fanatically religious mother, Margaret.

Ewen High School is the setting for the novel's pivotal early scenes, including the gym-class shower incident in which Carrie experiences her first menstruation and is cruelly mocked by other girls. The school later hosts the senior prom, where a staged humiliation involving pig's blood triggers Carrie's violent telekinetic retaliation.

The name is easy to miss because many summaries simply call it Carrie's high school. It is also frequently confused with locations from other Stephen King stories, such as Derry, Castle Rock, and Jerusalem's Lot. Those places belong to different fictional Maine settings and are not Carrie's school.

Carrie was King's first published novel, released in 1974. Film adaptations have changed some details, but Ewen High School is the name used in the novel.
