In the myth of Pandora's Box, which Greek god carried Pandora to humanity?

The story behind the answer

In the myth of Pandora's Box, Hermes carried Pandora to humanity.

Hesiod describes Pandora being brought to Epimetheus by Hermes, the Olympian messenger god. Hermes was associated with travel, communication, boundaries, trade, and the movement of people between places, so his role as escort fits his wider mythological functions.

The journey is part of a larger divine plan. Zeus has Pandora fashioned as part of his punishment of humanity after Prometheus's theft of fire. Rather than arriving as an ordinary traveler, she is presented as a divinely created figure whose arrival changes human existence.

Hermes is sometimes confused with Hephaestus in retellings because Hephaestus is connected with the making of Pandora. Their roles differ: Hephaestus fashions her body in the traditional account, while Hermes brings her to Epimetheus and gives her qualities associated with his own sphere.
