The prison-related Monopoly space where players may be “Just Visiting” is Jail.
The Jail space occupies one corner of the classic board. A player can arrive there in two different ways: by landing on the corner normally, in which case the player is only visiting, or by being sent there through a “Go to Jail” space, card, or rule involving three consecutive doubles. The game distinguishes these outcomes even though they use the same physical corner.
A player who is merely visiting is not detained and continues normally on the next turn. A player sent to Jail must use one of the standard methods of release, such as rolling doubles, using a Get Out of Jail Free card, or paying the required fee.
The corner is officially labeled “Jail,” while “Just Visiting” appears as part of the printed wording on the same space.
