In the manga series Pandora Hearts, who created and wrote the story?

Jun Mochizuki created and wrote the manga series Pandora Hearts. The Japanese series was serialized by Square Enix in Monthly Gangan Fantasy from 2006 to 2015.

Pandora Hearts follows Oz Vessalius, a noble teenager who is condemned to the Abyss during his coming-of-age ceremony. He later forms a contract with Alice, a powerful Chain known as the B-Rabbit. The series combines fantasy, mystery, and motifs drawn from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

The title’s Pandora reference is part of the series’ broader use of literary and mythological names. It should not be confused with Avatar’s moon Pandora or the ancient Greek container myth. Mochizuki’s manga was collected in 24 tankōbon volumes and received a television anime adaptation in 2009.
