In the Greek myth of Pandora, Pandora married Epimetheus.

Epimetheus was a Titan associated with hindsight and poor judgment, while his brother Prometheus represented forethought. Hesiod’s Works and Days presents Pandora as a gift sent to Epimetheus, who accepted her despite Prometheus’s earlier warning not to receive anything from Zeus.

The marriage links Pandora’s arrival directly to the story’s explanation for human suffering. After Pandora opened the jar, evils spread among humanity. The myth therefore combines a creation story, a warning about accepting gifts, and an account of why troubles exist in human life.
