In the final episode of "The Office," Kelly Kapoor leaves her fiancé Ravi to run away with Ryan Howard. Their impulsive reunion is one of the finale’s most outrageous romantic twists.
At the beginning of the ninth season, Kelly has moved to Ohio with Ravi, a successful pediatrician, and the two become engaged. Ryan follows her to Ohio while pretending that his move has nothing to do with Kelly. By the series finale, Kelly and Ravi are still engaged, while Ryan is a single father raising his baby, Drake.
During Dwight and Angela’s wedding reception, Ryan deliberately creates a medical distraction involving Drake so that Ravi will examine the baby. He then uses the opportunity to tell Kelly that he wants her back. Kelly is delighted, abandons Ravi, and leaves with Ryan. The scene is played for comedy, but it also completes the long-running, deeply unhealthy Ryan-and-Kelly relationship.
