New Year's Eve is the 2011 romantic comedy featuring multiple stories set around December 31 in New York City.
Directed by Garry Marshall, the film uses an ensemble structure to follow interconnected characters during New Year's Eve. Its cast includes Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The stories unfold around the holiday's countdown and public celebrations.
The film was marketed as a companion to Marshall's earlier ensemble romantic comedy Valentine's Day, which used a similar multi-story format and was released in 2010. The two films are separate productions and do not share the same holiday setting.
The title can create confusion because it is also the ordinary name of the holiday. In this question, the answer is the film's exact title, released with capitalization as New Year's Eve.
