In the classic Monopoly board game, which space is directly opposite GO?

The story behind the answer

In the classic Monopoly board game, Free Parking is directly opposite GO.

The four corner spaces divide the square board into four sides. GO is one corner, followed clockwise by property and action spaces; Free Parking occupies the corner halfway around the circuit. Jail is the next corner, and Go to Jail is the corner before the final side returns to GO.

Free Parking is an ordinary resting space under the official rules. A player landing there does not receive money from the bank, and money paid as taxes or fees does not officially accumulate there. The popular jackpot rule is a house rule found in many games.

The opposite-corner relationship can be obscured when players focus on movement rather than the board’s geometry. It is also specific to the classic square layout; themed boards may redesign the names and arrangement.
