In the classic Monopoly board game, what is the name of the property group containing Mediterranean Avenue?

The story behind the answer

In the classic Monopoly board game, Mediterranean Avenue belongs to the brown property group.

The brown group is the least expensive color group on the standard U.S. board and contains only Mediterranean Avenue and Baltic Avenue. A player who owns both properties has a complete color group and receives doubled undeveloped rent, subject to the usual mortgage restrictions.

The group is identified by a dark brown band on the classic title deeds and board artwork. Its two properties are located immediately after the Jail corner in the board's clockwise sequence, making them among the first purchasable streets encountered after the starting corner.

Color names can cause confusion because international editions sometimes use different street names, currencies, or artwork. In the familiar U.S. edition, Mediterranean Avenue and Baltic Avenue are the brown group, while the light-blue group is the next three-property color group farther around the board.
