In the classic Monopoly board game, what is the name of the first property after Jail?

The story behind the answer

In the classic Monopoly board game, the first property after Jail is St. Charles Place.

Players move clockwise around the standard American board. Jail occupies the tenth position when GO is counted as space 0, and St. Charles Place follows it as the first purchasable property on that side of the board. It belongs to the pink, or light-purple, color group with States Avenue and Virginia Avenue.

St. Charles Place has a printed purchase price of $140 in the classic U.S. edition. Its undeveloped rent is $10, while completing the pink color group allows the owner to build houses and hotels under the normal rules.

Readers sometimes confuse the property’s position with its color group or with the next named space, States Avenue. States Avenue is the second pink property; St. Charles Place is the first one encountered after Jail.
