The standard classic Monopoly game contains 16 Community Chest cards.
Players draw one of these cards when they land on a Community Chest space. The deck includes a mixture of rewards, payments, and movement instructions. After a card is used, it normally goes to the bottom of the deck unless its instructions say to keep it, as with the Get Out of Jail Free card.
Community Chest has its own 16-card deck, separate from the 16-card Chance deck. The two decks are often confused because both use illustrated instruction cards and appear repeatedly around the board. Their card text and board locations are different.
Monopoly editions produced for other countries, licensed themes, or special occasions may alter the wording or contents. The 16-card figure refers to the familiar classic standard edition.
