In the Borderlands video-game series, Pandora is a fictional planet.
Pandora is the main setting of the original Borderlands and remains central to several later games. It is portrayed as a dangerous frontier world containing valuable alien technology, hostile wildlife, bandits, and the mysterious Vault.
The series was developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. The first Borderlands game was released in 2009, combining first-person shooting with role-playing systems such as character classes, experience levels, and procedurally varied weapons.
Pandora is sometimes mistaken for a moon because the series uses space-travel imagery and features other worlds. Within the game’s fictional setting, however, Pandora is a planet, while the broader story expands to additional planets and celestial locations.
