In the 2010 game God of War III, who created Pandora as a childlike artificial being?

The story behind the answer

In the 2010 game God of War III, Hephaestus created Pandora as a childlike artificial being.

God of War III reimagines the Greek gods and myths within an action-adventure story about Kratos’s war against Olympus. In this version, Hephaestus creates Pandora and becomes emotionally attached to her, treating her as a daughter rather than merely as an object. Her existence is connected to the Flame of Olympus and to the means by which Kratos can continue his quest.

This portrayal differs sharply from Hesiod’s Pandora. In the ancient Greek account, Hephaestus fashions Pandora from earth at Zeus’s command, and the gods give her different qualities. The game turns that brief creation episode into a personal relationship and gives Pandora a central dramatic role. Hephaestus remains the creator in both versions, but the game’s Pandora is not the exact character described by Hesiod.
