In the 2010 film 'Toy Story 3', what is the name of the daycare center?

The story behind the answer

The daycare center in the 2010 film Toy Story 3 is called Sunnyside Daycare. Andy’s toys are sent there after his mother mistakes a bag of toys meant for storage for a bag of rubbish.

At first, Sunnyside appears to be an ideal retirement home for toys. It has many children, bright playrooms, and a large collection of toys already living there. Woody remains suspicious, but Buzz, Jessie, and the others believe the daycare will give them constant opportunities to be played with after Andy leaves for college.

The apparent paradise soon becomes a prison. Lotso, the daycare’s strawberry-scented teddy bear, controls the toys and sends newcomers to the rough toddler room, while reserving the older children’s room for his inner circle. Buzz is also reset into a mode that makes him follow Lotso’s orders.

Sunnyside is therefore both a real setting and an important symbol in the film: it represents the toys’ fear of being abandoned and their mistaken belief that a new owner automatically means a better life. Lots-O’-Huggin’ Bear, often called Lotso, is a character at Sunnyside—not the daycare’s name.
