Answer
Omaticaya clan
Answer
Omaticaya clan
In the 2009 film Avatar, the Omaticaya clan lives around the Omaticaya Hometree. The clan is one of Pandora’s Na’vi communities and becomes the principal society shown in the first film.
Jake Sully is accepted into the Omaticaya community after meeting Neytiri. Through her instruction, he learns the clan’s language, customs, hunting practices, and spiritual relationship with Pandora. The clan’s home is built around a colossal tree that also has deep cultural and ancestral importance.
The Hometree is threatened by the Resources Development Administration, whose mining operation seeks unobtanium beneath the surrounding area. Its destruction becomes a major turning point in the film and intensifies the conflict between the human corporation and the Na’vi.
The Omaticaya should not be confused with the Metkayina, an aquatic reef clan introduced in Avatar: The Way of Water. Both are Na’vi groups, but they occupy different environments and appear prominently in different films.
