In the 2005 God of War game, which console was the original release made for?
Answer
PlayStation 2
Answer
PlayStation 2
The original 2005 God of War game was released for the PlayStation 2.
Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment's Santa Monica Studio, the game introduced Kratos, a Spartan warrior seeking revenge against Ares, the Greek god of war. Its fast combat, platforming, puzzles, and mythological setting helped establish the series on Sony's second home console.
God of War was released in North America on March 22, 2005, followed by releases in other regions. It was not initially a PlayStation 3 or portable title, although later collections brought it to newer hardware. The game later received a remastered version for the PlayStation 3 as part of God of War Collection.
The 2005 title began a Greek-era story that continued through God of War II, God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War III, and other games. The 2018 God of War reboot moved the series to Norse mythology and introduced Atreus as Kratos's son.
