In Taylor Swift's song "august," which album contains the track?

Taylor Swift's song "august" appears on the album Folklore.

Folklore is Swift's eighth studio album, released in 2020. Unlike many of her earlier records, it centers on fictional characters, imagined histories, and story-driven songs rather than only autobiographical material.

"august" is part of a three-song narrative involving James, Betty, and an unnamed young woman. The other two songs in that storyline are "Cardigan" and "Betty," each presenting a different perspective on the same teenage love triangle.

A common mix-up is confusing Folklore with Evermore, the sister album Swift released later in 2020. Although both albums use subdued, narrative-focused songwriting, "august" belongs specifically to Folklore.
