In Stephen King’s novel The Tommyknockers, the Maine town where the alien spacecraft is found is Haven.
The discovery begins when writer Bobbi Anderson finds a buried object while working near her home in Haven. The object is an ancient alien spacecraft, and exposure to it gradually changes the town’s inhabitants and their behavior.
Bobbi’s friend Jim Gardener becomes suspicious because he is unusually resistant to the spacecraft’s influence. The novel uses Haven’s transformation to examine technological obsession, collective behavior, and the dangers of uncontrolled invention.
Haven is often confused with King’s other fictional Maine towns, especially Derry and Castle Rock. Those locations appear in many King stories, but the buried spacecraft in The Tommyknockers is specifically located in Haven.
