In Stephen King’s novel The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three, Eddie Dean’s brother is named Henry.
Henry Dean is Eddie’s older brother and a defining influence on Eddie’s life. Eddie’s loyalty to Henry, including the consequences of Henry’s drug addiction and criminal associations, helps explain Eddie’s vulnerability when Roland draws him into the gunslinger’s world.
The Drawing of the Three is the second volume of The Dark Tower series and introduces Eddie as one of Roland Deschain’s eventual companions. Eddie enters Mid-World through a magical doorway connected to different moments in his own world, beginning the formation of Roland’s ka-tet.
The novel was published in 1987. Henry is not a member of the ka-tet and should not be confused with Roland, Susannah, or Jake Chambers. Eddie’s relationship with Henry remains important even after Eddie leaves his original world behind.
