In StarCraft: Brood War, Gerard DuGalle commands the United Earth Directorate fleet sent to the Koprulu Sector.
DuGalle is the admiral who leads the UED expedition in Brood War’s fifth campaign, titled The Iron Fist. Earth dispatches the fleet to seize control of the sector and capture the Zerg Overmind, making the UED a major new Terran power in the expansion’s story.
His second-in-command is Alexei Stukov, a longtime friend and vice admiral. The relationship between DuGalle and Stukov becomes central to the campaign after the UED’s manipulation by Samir Duran creates a severe breakdown of trust.
DuGalle is sometimes confused with Stukov because both are UED commanders and both direct major operations. DuGalle, however, is the fleet’s commanding admiral and the principal viewpoint character of the UED campaign.
