In StarCraft: Brood War, the United Earth Directorate’s flagship is the Aleksander.
The Aleksander is associated with Admiral Gerard DuGalle, the commander of the UED expedition sent from Earth to the Koprulu sector. The UED campaign begins with an effort to overthrow the Terran Dominion and capture the Zerg Overmind for strategic control.
The ship is a major symbol of the UED’s military power and its attempt to impose authority on the distant sector. Its commander, DuGalle, works alongside Vice Admiral Alexei Stukov, whose disagreements with the operation become central to the campaign’s story.
The Aleksander is often mixed up with the Hyperion, Jim Raynor’s battlecruiser in StarCraft II, or the Norad II, a battlecruiser connected with General Edmund Duke. Gantrithor is a Protoss carrier commanded by Tassadar.
